PEDAGOGY AS PUBLIC ACTION

The PEDAGOGY AS PUBLIC ACTION project is designed to extend the work of rank and file educators beyond institutions into the greater public field as well as into the archive. It demonstrates, makes space for, and invites participation in the act of tool and resource building outside the classroom. At its heart is a dedication to access for all to the materials and methodologies that are often gatekept within academic or disciplinary silos, and to freeing the work of dedicated educators.

PROGRAMMING around PEDAGOGY AS PUBLIC ACTION includes workshops (single or repeating) for educators, researchers, and other facilitators designed to assist in the development of the necessary skills for translating research, curriculum, and creative practice into open tools, prompts, resources, and guidelines for self-and-collective peer-led learning spaces.

Examples of training areas include writing, organization, design, documentation, print and dissemination strategies -- as well as workshops for practitioners seeking to translate their work into teachable / shareable methods and materials.

For organizations or sites simultaneously hosting a PUBLICATION AS PUBLIC ACTION installation, print materials from these programs can join the collection of resources growing under that aegis.
